Welcome to Metavision! 

This module provides some introductory readings and resources

This module introduces:

  • the Holistic approach used at Metavision
  • the historical roots of Psychology
  • the Process Oriented Psychology of Arnold Mindell and Anthroposophy of Rudolf Steiner and its applicability for the 21st century
  • Inner work and inner awareness
  • the nature of consciousness and its evolution is explored

The module introduces the holistic perspective of the human being including an understanding of Body Soul and Spirit; the subtle bodies (Etheric Astral and Ego) and temperaments.

These concepts are applied to Counselling and Psychotherapy. Examples of cases where this holistic approach is used can be found in resources as an article written by Christina Nielsen - Therapy for a new age, and an article written for the Good Therapy web site.

The module introduces the core concepts of Process Oriented Psychology.

It includes definitions of terms, the roots of Process Work and areas of application.

It looks at levels and channels of awareness, primary and secondary process and the edge, and a consciousness continuum. It also explores inner work and working on yourself alone.

AIM: 

  •  To demonstrate an understanding of the impact of inner work in yourself as a way of developing self-awareness and for the formation of you as a Counsellor /Psychotherapist as well as methods to use in your Counselling/Psychotherapy practice.
  • To have an experience of the use of a range of exercises as a therapeutic tool.

This module takes the skills learned in the first Process Oriented Psychology further into theory and practice.

This module introduces you to the basic ethical, social and legal issues necessary for working professionally as a Counsellor and Psychotherapist.

The module provides an introduction to qualitative research methodologies with a focus on
those that are aligned with the counselling and psychotherapy orientation of the Metavision
Institute.

In this module you will be introduced to a Process Oriented approach to working with trauma and abuse. This includes working with body/somatic awareness, the 'Metacommunicator', signal reading skills and the sensitive use of feedback to ensure that edges are negotiated with gentleness and awareness.
