    Introduction

Are you seeking change for your personal or professional life?

Our Introductory Course will give you a taste of the vision and awareness (both inner and outer) that is cultivated at Metavision.

We have created this course to give you a glimpse of the understanding and philosophy that underpins the depth and quality of content in the Metavision courses.

    Approach to this Introductory Course

    • Whilst introductory in nature, this course contains some deep and important perspectives and philosophies.

    • Please allow time to absorb and reflect upon the topics explored within the context of your own life journey. Please take advantage of the online forums to discuss your questions and thoughts with others participating in the course. We have designed the questions to prompt self-reflection. Many students prefer to write their reflections in a journal for easy reference and review at a later date.

Introduction to Inner-Work: Who Am I?

Inner Work forms a big component of the Metavision Holistic Counselling and Psychotherapy Course. In this exercise you are guided to explore the existential question of the human being - Who Am I?

It is an extraordinary gift to be able to see each human life as truly unique. To see that no one else has ever been alike in body, soul or spirit, nor will ever be.

    • You are unique in body: no one else has exactly the same fingerprints, face or body structure as you.

    • In soul: no one else knows exactly your feelings, desires or yearnings, and

    • in spirit: your deep essence and innermost thoughts are yours alone.

If you believe that you live more than one life, returning to this earth again and again, you remain unique on every level, in this moment, in this lifetime, now!

If you believe that you live only one earthly life, then make the most of this time and ask yourself, "Who am I?" This is a perennial question for humankind.

The "I Am" is seen as the spirit or deity that has unique expression through me as I gain insight into who I am. I also gain insight into who you are: our separateness and connection being two aspects of our entwined relationship.

What is this relationship you have to yourself and to those around you; to the place where you live; to the work you do?

Who am I? This is a great question to ask again and again.

  • Topic 2

Awareness of the World around and within us

In Session 1 we entered into a conversation with ourself. This is, of course, an ongoing process.

Now we start to enter into a conversation with our surroundings. We begin to see how intimately connected our inner life is with the world around us. This is central to the Metavision Model.

In the first exercise we entered into a conversation with ourself. This of course is an ongoing process. Now we start to enter into a conversation with our surroundings. We begin to see how intimately connected our inner life is with the world around us.
  • Topic 3

    Process Oriented Psychology

Process Oriented Psychology forms a basis for much of the psychological work at the Metavision Institute.

Process Work provides a simple structure, and a training in learning to read the signals of the process which is present and wanting to unfold in any situation.

    Conversation and Attentive Presence

Through attentive presence, a "conversation" as poet David Whyte says, can begin with the phenomenon that is both within and without and is constantly present. This simple structure enables one to go deeply into complex places enabled to follow and participate in the conversation that exists.
