Overview of Free Introductory course

This short introduction to what we offer at the Metavision Institute aims to give you a taste of our ways of thinking and experiences you will encounter in doing any of our courses. It may be of interest for your own learning also.

We have 4 lessons in this course. There are podcasts and exercises. The podcasts are also available in written form on our e-learning platform. This enables you to do the exercises at your own pace.

Lesson 1

·      There is s a podcast on some of the tenants of our Holistic approach to Counseling and Psychotherapy and the human being.

We look at the influences on our work and in particular Process Oriented Psychology and how the graduates are using this approach.

·      There is an inner work exercise linked with the use of Journaling to develop a reflective practice. This is useful for both the development of self-awareness in the therapist ,as well as a useful tool to use with a client  in a Counseling and Psychotherapy practice.

Lesson 2

·      There is a short keynote presentation on some of the tenants of the Metavision model that has been developed from our Holistic approach.

·      The exercise in Nature gives an experience for ways of working with nature to develop self-awareness.

·      A Clip of David Whyte speaking on the art of conversation gives an indication of the breadth of influence that we draw on at Metavision as well as the qualities that are cultivated in the training.

Lesson 3

·      This lesson gives you more information and experience of working with Process Oriented Psychology that forms a central part of the skills training.

·      There are links to discussions with Dr Julie Diamond and Dr David Bedrick and to a YouTube clip from an introductory talk given at Metavision to give you some insight into this approach.

·      The exercise on working with a Body Symptom can give you a taste of a Process Oriented Psychology (Process Work) approach to working with a body symptom  of your own on your own. This can be adapted to working with another person also, although this is not done in this short course.

Lesson 4

·      The pod cast in this lesson gives an indication of the applications of the Metavision model for Holistic Couselling and Psychotherapy.

·      We have recently done a survey of the graduates from the courses show how graduates are applying the work and what they feel they have got out of doing the courses

·      Testimonials and links to the courses are available to conclude.
