Exercise - Awareness of the world around and within you

Awareness of the world around and within you - Exercise
Find a place in nature that you enjoy to be. It may be a favourite place in a park, in the bush or on a balcony where you can observe and feel part of the natural environment. You may prefer to sit, lie down or slowly walk.
Breathe in the air, notice the sky and the whole environment, taking time to observe what you see, hear, and feel.
As you take time just to be in nature observe what happens for you?
What is your mind doing? Here your attention moves from the outer to the inner world.
Where is your attention? Does it wander? If so gently bring back your attention to your own inner experiences?
Notice your body. What are you feeling in your body?
Find a place to sit.
Now go within and ask yourself what is uncomfortable in my life?
What am I longing for?
How does that longing feel? Is there a place in your body where you feel this the most? Just observe it.
How does your longing arise out of the context of your life?
If you were to fully heed the call of your longing what would you do differently?
What holds you back from following the longing of your Soul?
Focus for a time on what holds you back? Give yourself time here. If you notice that your attention wanders away just notice the shift and gently bring your awareness back to what holds you back.
Is it outer circumstances or other people that hold you back? What are your inner beliefs that may be holding those outer circumstances in place?
If you manage to change your inner world of thoughts, feelings and beliefs your outer world should start giving you feedback that things are changing. Your mind has an effect on the outer world!
This is an empowering experience. True empowerment starts to come when you look deeply at your beliefs and objectively observes them. Then ask yourself what do I long for?
As you observe your mind and its activity and your soul and it’s longing you can become an active creator of your own life.
